Yellow gold, white gold, rose gold or platinum?
What really differs between our four metals — colour, weight, durability and upkeep — and which one suits the way you live.
All four of our metals are precious and made to last a lifetime. The differences are colour, weight and how they age.
At a glance
| Metal | Colour | Feel | Upkeep |
|---|---|---|---|
| 18k yellow gold | Warm, classic | Medium weight | Polish every few years |
| 18k white gold | Bright white (rhodium plated) | Medium weight | Re-plate every 1–2 years, free with lifetime care |
| 18k rose gold | Soft pink, deepens with age | Medium weight | Very durable thanks to copper |
| Platinum | Naturally white | Dense and heavy | Develops a soft patina; refinish on request |
Our advice
If you work with your hands, platinum or rose gold will wear best. If you love warm skin tones, yellow gold. If you want bright white sparkle around a diamond, white gold or platinum — platinum costs more but never needs re-plating.
